LAMP Hall of Fame 2018

We are pleased to announce the 2018 inductees into the LAMP Hall of Fame. They will be honored at a ceremony to be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 6 pm at First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street. Tickets are $25 each. Tables of 8 are available for $200. Brief Biographies of Inductees

Johnny Johnson, M.D. (1991) works as Hospitalist at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida. Johnny received the Bachelor or Arts in Chemistry from Huntingdon College and his M.D. in Internal Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Johnny was named Attending Physician of the Year at Northside in 2016.

Madhavi Ryali, M.D. (1995) holds dual positions as a doctor at Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois and as Medical Mission Coordinator of the Syrian American Medical Society. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of Alabama, the M.D. at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and completed both residency and a fellowship in Nephrology at Rush University Medical Center. Madhavi recently organized and directed a medical mission to Lebanon, raising money and recruiting personnel, as well as directing the activities of the twenty-five medical personnel who participated in the mission.

Mandi Sehgal, M.D.
(1993) currently serves as Associate Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. She is also director of the longitudinal curriculum thread in Geriatrics and Associate Director of the Geriatrics/Palliative Care Clerkship. Mandi completed both her undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of South Alabama. She also completed a fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of Cincinnati and one in Faculty Development at the University of North Carolina.

Jayne Harrell Williams, J.D. (1992) holds dual titles as General Counsel and Director of Legal Advocacy for the Alabama Association of School Boards, and Shareholder/Litigation Attorney at Hill, Hill, Carter, Franco, Cole & Black, P.C. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, with a major in political science with a concentration in public Administration, Jayne completed her law degree at Georgetown University Law Center. Jayne was recently named to the Board of Directors of the Federal Defenders of the Middle District of Alabama.

Educator Inductee
Essie Vaughn Buskey
(deceased). As Supervisor of Science for the Montgomery Public Schools, Essie assisted with the writing of the Magnet Schools Grant proposal (USDOE) that originally funded the establishment of the Lanier Academic Motivational Program (LAMP) at Lanier High School in 1984. Essie continued to ensure the success of LAMP by personally supervising the planning, design of the classrooms and labs and development of curriculum.
