LAMP students help Dozier library get ready for the new year
This summer, LAMP Seniors did not just relax from their excruciating Junior year. They also worked hard to give back to the community. This past year, Dozier Elementary was remodeled due to a mold issue. The library, office, and front lobby was completely boxed up and refinished. When the remodeling work was done, the boxes were placed back into the rooms that they came from and left for teachers to unpack upon their return. The new librarian, Mrs. Davis, returned to work Tuesday, August 16th to find her library completely in boxes. Several LAMP Seniors took the initiative to give back. They went to Dozier on Thursday morning to do anything they could to help get ready for the new year. The new principal, Mrs. Spooner, set them to work in the place she felt it was needed most: the library. LAMP students worked hard moving boxes and reloading the books to the shelves. At the end of the day, the library was starting to look organized. Mrs. Spooner and Mrs. Davis were so thankful for the help and hard work of the LAMP Seniors!
